Developing ASP-Like Object Classes as a Partial Migration Tool From ASP to PHP

Abstract / Excerpt:

Microsoft' s ASP, limits programmers by only using the resources it provides . It is also evident that programmers tend to use low cost or no cost programming. PHP, which is open source, poses as a possible alternative to the proprietary ASP.

This study aims to create a seamless migration from ASP to PHP. ASP' s RECORDSET, CONNECTION and COMMAND object classes will be the basis of creating the partial migration tool, therefore providing a whole new perspective on database connectivity in PHP scripting. By developing ASP-like object classes for database connectivity in PHP scripting the capability of PHP will be greatly enhanced, making it as versatile as ASP' s connection classes.
