After eleven years of fruitful and historic partnership on the Training for Women and Children Protection Desk Officers nationwide, the Philippine National Police, United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) and Child Protection Network Foundation Inc. (CPNFI), jointly agreed in pursuing the mission of protecting all children from all
forms of abuse, neglect, discrimination and exploitation.
With this, a Memorandum of Understanding was signed between
the PNP, UNICEF and CPNFI for the capability building of WCPD Officers on May 19, 2014 during the Flag Raising Ceremony at Camp Crame. This was attended by Dr. Bernadette Madrid, Executive Director, CPNFI and Mr. Patrick Halton, Child Protection Specialist, UNICEF and of course PDG ALAN LA MADRID PURISIMA, Chief, PNP, as the main signatories. Also present in the signing is DIR FRANCISCO DON C MONTENEGRO, The Director for Investigation and Detective Management, PCSUPT JUANITA S NEBRAN, Chief of the Women and Children Protection Center and Dr. Stella Manalo, associate Director of CPNFI, as witnesses. Under the agreement, a series of activities will be held in order to ensure that the appropriate training will be given to WCPD Officers.
